Catherine Wheels always look rather small and unimposing when you take them out of the box, but once you hammer them to a stand and light the two fuses they take off with surprising vigour. Just like their iconic namesake, they spin round at impressive speeds spending out a beautiful arch of sparks as they go round and round, giving the illusion of a huge comet or star exploding into your back garden.
